The reports spread quickly, and they were not imaginary &mdash; the amounts were live in the system and were being collected. For nationalities that had historically paid very little under reciprocity arrangements, the apparent increase was startling, and a good deal of alarmed commentary was published in the space of a few hours.<\/p>\n      <p>On <strong>30 April 2026<\/strong>, the Presidency of Migration Management published a statement addressing the matter head-on. Its language was unambiguous: there is no fee change whatsoever in residence permit charges. The statement reminded applicants that residence permit fees are determined annually by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance under Law No. 492, and directed them to the published schedule for the current amounts.<\/p>\n      <div class=\"rp-hbox\"><strong>Why this matters more than a news cycle.<\/strong> A great deal of content published in the days around 29 April 2026 is still online, still says fees increased by several hundred per cent, and has never been corrected. If you are budgeting from an article dated late April or early May 2026 &mdash; on any site &mdash; check its date and check whether it was updated after the correction.<\/div>\n      <p>The practical lesson is not really about April. It is about where you take your figures from. Turkish fee schedules are genuinely revised each year, published through the Official Gazette, and administered by an authority that maintains its own public page of current amounts.
